In Millau, Aveyron, Maison Fabre is France's oldest glove-making house still in operation. Founded in 1924 by Étienne Fabre, it has survived a century of family history, prosperity, hardship and renewal, and is now flourishing under the fourth generation: Olivier and Jean-Marc Fabre.
Its gloves have adorned the hands of Grace Kelly, Nicole Kidman and Brigitte Macron, as well as prestigious fashion houses including Chanel, Hermès and Dior. Every pair is hand-stitched using the traditional English pique technique, crafted from carefully selected lambskin from Aveyron, peccary and European deer leather. Maison Fabre has been awarded the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant label and is seeking UNESCO recognition for its exceptional craftsmanship.
Its flagship Larzac glove , made from Lacaune wool and Aveyron lambskin and produced entirely in southern Aveyron, was presented at the Élysée Palace during the Made in France Exhibition.
