Gardiens of Occitania
Discover the region through the people who keep its traditions alive.
There are men and women in Occitanie who have chosen to do things differently. With their hands, their time, their dedication to passing things on. Artisans, producers, makers and entrepreneurs who perpetuate ancient gestures, tend generous land and create objects built to last, far from industrial supply chains and the noise of the world.
Domaine de la Vialette seeks them out, savours what they make, and champions what they stand for. Some are our neighbours. Others are figures of the territory we have long admired. All share a common conviction: that what is made with care deserves to be known, passed on, and supported.
This list is a troupe, a personal, living selection that grows with every encounter and every discovery. Each name here has been chosen for what it represents, not only for what it produce
Four values shared by every artisan and producer on our list , the principles that guide every choice we make.
Territorial Roots
Grounded in their region, faithful to their land. Each artisan embodies a precise place: its landscapes, its traditions, its raw materials.
Living Transmission
Gestures learned, passed down, carried forward. Here, craftsmanship is not nostalgia: it is a daily practice, held with pride.
Excellence
A rare standard of quality, inseparable from an authentic relationship with materials, with time, and with work done properly.
Ethics & Restraint
Responsible, human-scale production. Not volume for volume's sake: coherence, good sense, and things made to endure.

You Must Go Experiences Around the Domaine
The most beautiful places are often those discovered through the people who live there. We are delighted to share with you our personal favourites, the experiences we recommend without hesitation to our guests and to anyone who wants to understand what Lozère truly is.
Landscapes that still leave us in wonder. Encounters we return to.
Escapades that tell, in their own way, the soul of this territory.
Les Bâteliers des Gorges du Tarn
Around 20min from La Vialette
Take your time gliding across the water and discover the gorges from a completely different perspective. A peaceful, unhurried experience that invites you to slow down and let the landscape carry you.
Aubrac, a world apart
Around 45min from La Vialette
Shaped by volcanoes, wind and the turning seasons. The landscapes shift with the light: vast open pastures, quiet forests, and herds of Aubrac cattle moving slowly across the plateau.
Le Causse Méjean: the little Mongolia
Around 40min from La Vialette
The widest, the wildest, the most silent. Between mineral immensities, Przewalski horses and infinite horizons, the Méjean offers a sensation that is increasingly rare: the feeling of being alone in the world.
The Aven
Armand Cave
Less than 60min from La Vialette
One of the most spectacular underground chambers in Europe. After a descent to the heart of the earth, a forest of over 400 giant stalagmites shaped over 30 million years awaits, a world beneath the world.

Your ecolodge near the Cévennes, in Occitanie.
Domaine de la Vialette welcomes you in a natural and unspoilt setting. Between open meadows and historic stone buildings, every corner of the Domaine has been thoughtfully designed to host moments of sharing and joy.
Welcoming, but differently. For over 15 years, Domaine de La Vialette has been committed to an environmentally responsible approach . Preserving resources, rethinking practices, adapting equipment: here, every technical choice is also a choice of consistency . These commitments have earned us the Ecogîte label, in recognition of a holistic approach where comfort and sustainability go hand in hand.
L’Orangerie de Romy, designed to meet , the RE2020 environmental standards, follows the same philosophy : insulated roofing, double glazing, heat pumps paired with solar panels, and automatic sanitary systems to better manage energy consumption.
Our long-term goal is clear: to move towards energy self-sufficiency, while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality and environmental responsibility.
Finally, because a place like this would be nothing without the people who bring it to life , we are deeply committed to caring for our team. The Domaine is, above all, a human adventure.
